Carlos Rojas

Piano

Born in Italy, Carlos Rojas started his piano studies at the Conservatory “V. Bellini” of Catania with Professor Mario Spinnicchia and graduated with full marks and “Magna cum Laude”.
From 2004 to 2009 he continued his education with Professor Adrian Oetiker and Filippo Gamba at the Basel University of Music (Switzerland), and is currently pursuing his studies at the Soloist Class of the University of Music in Lugano with Professor Nora Doallo.
     In addition to his studies, he gained valuable inspiration from his work with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Piotr Anderszewski, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Pascal Devoyon, Edith Fischer, Andrzej Jasinski, Paavali Jumppanen, Sergio Perticaroli, Menahem Pressler, and  Andràs Schiff.
He is the recipient of numerous national and international prizes  (eight first prizes), including the Premio Venezia (Italy), and Pierre D'’Or de Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
    He has made guest appearances at international venues, such as the Festival “Classique au Large” de St. Malo – (France), Festival “De Bouche à Oreille” de Genève, and "Semaine Internationale de Piano” in Blonay (Switzerland),
   He has performed all around Italy. (Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro-Spain, Auditorio del Museo das Telecomunicações in Lisbon-Portugal, Sala America in Santiago de Chile-South America,etc) and has made studio recordings for Portuguese Radio with the cellist Fernando Gomes. He is also a member of Ensemble Sherazade, Anthilia Piano Trio and Gabriel Rivano Tango Mediterraneo Quartet.
He has fostered his knowledge, with renowned artists such as Ricardo Castro, Isabel Charisius (Alban Berg Quartet), Saiko Sasaki, and Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet).
    He has held master classes for the "Ponte" Foundation of Siracusa (Italy), and since 2008 he is an official assistant at the International Music master classes in Troina (Italy)
